New HONDA CIVIC Review:

Let's cut to the chase: the Civic's looks are certainly a departure from traditional Honda styling and it appears that it's come straight off the set of the latest Sci-Fi movie. For many that's a good thing; for others it makes the Civic a non-starter on their shopping list, which is a shame because they would be missing out on a great little car. It's not the best in its field but offers an element of individuality which is rare in this segment - and is a good car to drive. The 2.2 I-CDTi diesel engine is the best choice thanks to its eager acceleration and excellent fuel economy - although the firm suspension setup does spoil the car's refinement and there is noticeable wind noise at speed. Honda are known for their bullet proof reliability and Civic will not disappoint; meanwhile the safety and security should prove top-notch as well. Don't expect massive discounts in the auction: the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and VW Golf will always offer far better savings (and that's why some buyers will reject the Honda) - but there is a reasonable margin in the car and by placing an order into the auction you may well be able to find a car which a dealer can supply straight from stock.
