The rang of engines isn’t as extensive as those of its rivals, with only a 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol engine on offer, however the 1.7 diesel is exceptionally efficient, especially in the lower-powered Blue Drive Active version.

Visually Hyundai’s ‘fluidic’ design suits a large estate such as the New Hyundai i40, and successfully disguises its large bulk.
