Advantages: Incredibly good value for money, low-emitting 4x4, high level of kit as standard.

Disadvantages: Poor petrol engine, cheap interior trim, styling not overly unique.

Summary: The New Hyundai ix35 is a good-looking, well equipped and competitively priced car, though some engines are better than others.

New HYUNDAI IX35 Review:
The New Hyundai ix35 crossover is based on the platform of the incredibly successful Hyundai i30 hatchback. The result is a car that rivals the likes of the Ford Kuga and the Nissan Qashqai, or even, in Hyundai’s opinion, smaller hatchbacks such as the Ford Focus.

The New Hyundai ix35 is competitively priced and brimming full with standard kit. There are just two trim levels available – Style and Premium – and even the entry-level model comes with a lot included at the purchase price. Standard kit includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors, downhill brake control, iPod connectivity and heated front and rear seats. Premium trim, costing £1,750 extra, brings you cruise control, a sunroof, keyless entry and automatic light and wipers.

The New Hyundai ix35 drives well, holding the road remarkably well considering its height and the ride itself is firm without jarring. From launch there will be two engines available – a 2.0-litre 134bph diesel and a 161bhp 2.0 petrol. Overall the diesel wins out over the petrol, reaching 62mph in 9.4 seconds. The diesel comes with a choice of two or four-wheel drive, with barely any difference between the two in terms of emissions and economy. With just £1,000 difference between the two and four-wheel drive it makes more sense to go for the latter – the two WD version manages 51.4mpg and emits 147g/km, while the all wheel drive is just a fraction behind at 49.6mpg and 149g/km. The four-wheel drive option also feels more confident that the two-wheel through the corners.

The 2.0-litre petrol is disappointing and best avoided, requiring more revving and failing to return much in the way of performance. It’s slower than the diesel too, reaching 62mph in 10.4seconds and lacks urgency.

Despite the disappointing 2.0 petrol the New Hyundai ix35 is an excellent car and makes a credible alternative to its more expensive equivalents such as the Ford Kuga or even the Ford Focus or i30.

How do we get our New HYUNDAI IX35 deals?

Cheap new HYUNDAI IX35 cars for sale through AutoeBid

Reasons for being much cheaper than your local dealer:

  • We don't charge HYUNDAI IX35 suppliers a fee to sell through our service. Meaning they incur no direct costs in selling a vehicle through AutoeBid. As such, the standard costs of advertising, marketing and administrating the sale are taken out of the equation.
  • All HYUNDAI IX35 orders are live on our website so that suppliers can compete between one another to win your business by giving you the best quote. Their fierce competition for your business forces their price down, giving you the ultimate advantage of getting your price at your rates.
  • Suppliers are also able to sell vehicles nationally through AutoeBid, which potentially allows them to sell large numbers of cars through our website. As a mark of their appreciation, they are able to provide for much larger discounts if they are able to sell large volumes of vehicles.
  • Similarly through our Group Buying Scheme, we group together buyers in order to maximise our buying power.
  • Our extensive supply base allows us to approach the most competitive suppliers in the market on behalf of our buyers. We spend a lot of our time researching new suppliers and confirming their trading record and their ability to deliver.
  • By continuously keeping in contact with our extensive potential supplier base, and maintaining a database of suppliers who register with us, we regularly update our Reserve Prices. Click here to view more information on the different types of supplier who you can buy from through AutoeBid.
