New KIA CEED Review:
Kia pumped some substantial investment into the Cee'd in a bid to bring it up to speed with the stiff competition that it faces in the European market. The likes of the VW Golf and Ford Focus are a class act, so Kia had its work cut out in trying to match them. The European-designed and built Cee'd is a decent attempt, even if it doesn't totally hit the mark. Behind the wheel it feels comfortable and well-composed, whilst the diesels do a particularly good job of combining economy and power.Kias have traditionally been characterised by low prices that substantially undercut the bigger players in the market; not so with the Cee'd. Prices are similar to its rivals and discounts are unlikely to be huge, although there are some healthy savings using AutoeBid's reverse auction system - particularly on pre-reg cars. The biggest string in the Cee'd's bow is its 7 year warranty, a first in the UK market, covering all parts for 5 years and the powertrain and gearbox for an additional 24 months. It's an indicator that Kia expects the new model to be strong on reliability, and that is likely to be a big factor in fuelling the success of both the Cee'd and the Korean manufacturer.
