The 207 represents a key model for Peugeot, for whom superminis have always been an important market segment, and that means they put a huge amount of thought into it when designing a new one. So in many ways it comes as no surprise that the latest 207 is a great little car - it feels so much further on than the old 206 from which it took over: just sitting inside it reveals a quality feel that never used to feature in French cars. Out on the road, the Peugeot is astonishingly quiet and delivers a fine ride as one would expect. The weaker engines tend to let the side down, however, so it's worth opting for the more powerful petrol or diesel units and things will progress at a far more acceptable pace. On the inside, space is generous and equipment levels are perfectly adequate, with plenty of kit on the range-topping GT spec.
