New FORD TRANSIT CONNECT Review:
Not surprisingly the Transit Connect has profited hugely by Ford’s large and light commercial vehicle sharing the brand name. The Transit stands for strength, durability and affordability but does the Connect possess those qualities? Yes. It has an excellent ride quality and much better handling than its last outing. The Ford Transit Connect is also pleasing on the eye, being nicely styled, on the inside and out. It has been handed a facelift, reshaped and the cabin restyled with a more appealing dash. It is also very comfortable, profiting from a more easy-going suspension and better seats. There are three engines available in the Ford Transit Connect. An entry-level 74bhp 1.8 litre TDCI, then an 89bhp or 109bhp 1.8 litre TDCI diesel engine. Both short and long wheelbases are on offer with varying roof lengths. The cargo area ranges from 2.8 cubic metres to 3.4 cubic metres and there is a maximum payload of 900kg. There is also a wide option of rear and side door openings, creating easier loading. The generous level of standard equipment on board is pleasing and as with its namesake the Connect proves reliable and durable. A superb little panel van.
