New MITSUBISHI SHOGUN Review:
This forth generation Mitsubishi Shogun is a family-sized 4x4 that strikes a useful compromise between on and off-road ability that will prove more than sufficient for most. It looks very similar to that its predecessor with the addition of a few nice styling tweaks to the exterior and to the cabin. Four transmission modes have been made available with the introduction of a central differential lock which splits the torque to give a range or rear wheel or four wheel drive options. A 3,200cc diesel engine has been put in place to give 168bhp which is an improvement on the last Shogun. The main strength of the Mitsubishi Shogun however, is its pulling power as it produces a class-leading 381Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Getting rid of the petrol engine also means that it will cost dramatically less to run. Three or five door models are available, though the amount space in both should be more than enough to meet any requirements. Mitsubishi have also installed a ‘Hide and Seat’ system which places a further two seats that fold flat into the boot.
