AutoeBid charges

AutoeBid's system consistently offers the safest, most reliable suppliers in the UK - as well as the lowest prices.

The Option 1 reverse auction fee is calculated as follows:

  • £100 + VAT, if the total saving is less than £1,200 and the car is up-to £29,499 (or)
  • £295 + VAT, if the total price is up to £29,500 (or)
  • 1% + VAT of the total transaction price if over £29,500
No win, no fee - You can't lose !
Autoebid fee is only charged at the end of a successful auction - ie, if all your conditions of purchase are met.

The Option 2 part exchange auction fee is £295 + VAT.

Remember our Reserve Price will always be the most you will pay for your vehicle. Using the system, customers have saved hundreds and even thousands of pounds over and above their Reserve Prices. You are more likely to save over and above our Reserve Price if the vehicle is in stock as opposed to a factory order.

What our Reserve Price includes on cars: A UK supplied cars, including delivered to your door (UK mainland only), VAT, 12 Months Road tax and First Registration, full manufacturer's warranty and breakdown cover, excluding our fee.

What our Reserve Price includes on commercial vehicles: Full UK specification, UK supplied vehicle,VAT, Road Tax and 1st registration is not included. (UK mainland only).

To auction your order, you need to demonstrate your commitment to purchase and confirm your identity. To do so, you will be asked to pre-authorise payment of the finder's fee. This means that you provide Barclays Merchant Services (secured payment 128 bit) with your credit/debit card details and pre-authorise the fee to be debited from your card after the close of the auction.

If you do not receive any bids from suppliers or fail to achieve the Reserve Price or lower, your pre-authorisation will be automatically cancelled after the end of auction and you will not be charged a penny.

Steps to paying the auction fee:

When you log in to My Account to make a payment, you will be given prompts as to how to proceed with the payment.

Dealer and Vehciel Payment Most of our suppliers are manufacturers' franchised dealers.

Whenever you receive a bid from one of our suppliers, you can be confident it has been confirmed to us that the supplier (unless clearly specified in the supplier profile):

  • Is experienced - has at least 3 years trading experience.

  • Is an established business - has at least 3 employees.

  • Has the ability to deliver - has sold at least 100 vehicles.

  • Will ask you for a small deposit - will only request a £500 deposit if vehicle is under £25,000 and a £1,000 deposit if vehicle is over £25,000.

  • Has standard payment terms - will only require payment of full balance if vehicle matches the exact order and specification, and upon satisfactory inspection of the vehicle on delivery or collection.

We take the reputation of all our suppliers extremely seriously and will remove any suppliers who fail to supply correctly.

We have already removed several well established and smaller suppliers from our service for their inability to actually deliver or for a poor service.

Payment Terms

You will be required to pay the deposit to the supplier, upon the order being placed with that supplier, with the balance payable to the supplier on delivery or collection. The balance will not be payable in the event that the vehicle does not match the exact order specification. A banker's draft or building society cheque is usually required by the supplier to pay the balance.

* We recommend you ensure the balance does not become payable to the supplier in advance of the vehicle being delivered to you and you are entirely satisfied with it.

* In the event that you receive a bid from a supplier who has not been able to provide the above confirmations, it will clearly state this when you receive the bid. In such situation, you will be able to accept the bid if you choose to do so, but you will not be committed to accept it.

Car Warranty

Because all vehicles are UK supplied and as such registered through a main dealer, you get exactly the same warranty and entitlements as you would if you bought from your local dealer. The only difference is that it will come from a different franchised dealer or a broker who will buy the car from a franchised dealer.

Since all new vehicles purchased using AutoeBid's system come with the full manufacturer's warranty, you can take the car to any main franchised dealer in the country (and therefore your local dealer) who will carry out any work required under the manufacturer's warranty. The normal warranty is three years, with 12 months breakdown cover, although some cars come with a five year warranty. You can refer to the manufacturer's website for full details.

This would be the same as if you bought the car from your local dealer and then moved home to another part of the country - you would simply switch to your new nearest dealer. All local dealers are obliged to carry out any work under the manufacturer's warranty - and in fact dealers make a good commission on any warranty work and will therefore be only too pleased to do the work for you.

Exporting vehicles

We are based in the UK, however if you wish to export a vehicle, you will be able to arrange this.

If you are after a new vehicle for export, you will usually be responsible for the paperwork and for arranging an export company to deliver the vehicle. You should be able to claim back the VAT on a new vehicle if it's being exported to a country outside the UK.

If your new vehicle is being exported to another European member country you can still purchase it tax free provided your company is registered for VAT. You can find out more by visiting the HM Revenues and Customs website.

Fleet buyers

AutoeBid's sourcing solution is the ideal way for both individuals and small-to-large companies to obtain fleet discounts on new vehicles.

With company cars and vans remaining the second largest overhead for most businesses, it is the banks which now run the show. Most manufacturers offer between six-35% fleet discount to businesses. There is a group of specialist dealers who can pass on this large fleet discount on to you. The UK fleet market is extremely competitive with new entries into the market on an ongoing basis. We offer a platform that allows them to bid for your order.

If you are a business buyer with multiple requirements, give us a call to discuss your order.

Buying through AutoeBid

1
Once registered, log into "My Account" at any time to place your order.

2 Specify your exact order
Placing an order through Autoebid is simple and easy. We have rigorous policies in place to ensure all our suppliers adhere to our pre-set conditions of purchase and conform to our strict supplier terms.

All you have to do is specify:

  • Make, model, options, trim, colour
  • Date you require the vehicle to be delivered by
  • Period you would like your reverse auction to stay open for (two-10 days)
  • Any other conditions
  • Price you are prepared to pay - Our reserve price is the maximum price that you will pay for the vehicle of your choice if your order is successful. You can specify your own price. The price is for a full UK specification, UK supplied vehicle, including delivered to your door (UK mainland only), VAT, excluding our fee, 12 months road tax and first registration, full manufacturers warranty and breakdown cover.

By placing an order, you are agreeing to purchase the vehicle at that price (or lower). Once your firm order is live, our suppliers can place bids to win the right to supply your chosen vehicle to you. They bid against one another (pushing the price downwards) to win your order.

To make your order live you are required to confirm your identity and your commitment to purchase. Simply provide Barclaycard Merchant Services with your card details and pre-authorise us to debit your card for our fee of (between £100 and 1%, view pricing), if you achieve 100%* of all your buying conditions (including our price or lower) by the end of your auction or if you decide to accept any offers made to you.

If you don't achieve 100%* of all your buying conditions (including our price or lower) by the end of your auction we don't charge you a penny.

3
Let the battle commence Need Finance?
You can now sit back (two to 10 days) and wait for suppliers to start the battle to win your business. You will receive bids from suppliers until your price is reached or lowered.

We have over 600 registered competitive suppliers as well as an additional 2,000 UK suppliers ready to compete against each other to win the right to supply you a new vehicle.

Because you pay our fee, suppliers don't have to build any advertising or marketing costs into the sale price. Therefore, even if you approached our suppliers directly you would not get the same discount.

About Autoebid

Through our service, you tell a large number of suppliers the exact specification of the new car you want to buy. You dictate all the terms of your purchase, including the price you are willing to pay, the type of supplier you would like to buy from, the options you require, interior/exterior colours, the date you wish to receive bids by, the date you wish to place your firm order, and the date you require delivery of your new vehicle.

We realise price is a key factor when buying a new vehicle; however a supplier's ability to supply without any complications is also very important. Because there are so many unreliable suppliers operating in the market, we protect your interests by banning unreliable suppliers from using our service. We only use suppliers who meet our stringent suppliers criteria.

New Vehicles:

Auction your Order - Get suppliers to compete against each other to win your order in our Reverse Auction. In a normal auction the price goes up; in our Reverse Auction the price goes down. You simply agree to buy at our Reserve Price or lower, and the supplier offering the best deal (at or lower than our Reserve price) at the end of the auction wins your order.

This service is best if you want the best possible price on your new factory order cash purchase.

Used Vehicles:

We have tens of thousands of used vehicles showing on our website. You can search for cars in dealer stock or alternatively vehicles that are on sale privately. Click here to search our used car database. Once you have found a suitable car, simply click the button at the bottom right of the screen to find out more; you will be given a dedicated telephone number to call for stock cars or can request the seller details if it is on sale privately.

Bids: best bid (lowest bids)

The lowest bid made is shown as the best bid. This is the lowest price at which a supplier has offered the vehicle. You can also view all other bids when you click on the requirement number.

You should make sure the lowest bid is for the exact requirement as occasionally a supplier may offer a stock vehicle with a slightly different specification in case that may be of interest.

Bids: Bid increments

In our reverse auction, suppliers must beat the previous bid by at least £50.

Bids: Auction duration

The minimum duration of the auction is 48 hours, with the maximum being two weeks. It is worth giving suppliers a sufficient amount of time to view the order and work out pricing. However, if you need the vehicle faster, it may be best to place an auction for just a couple of days.

We normally recommend between two and four days as an appropriate length for an auction. All auctions close at 5pm between Monday to Friday.

Bids: Overview

Only suppliers offer bids - buyers simply place orders and suppliers then submit their bids.

We do our best to review all suppliers and will ban any suppliers from our service if we are aware of any misconduct. We provide you with the main information you should need to make an informed decision.

If you were to run into problems with the supplier, we suggest the following:

1) Try to resolve the matter directly with the supplier.
2) We will act as a third party to help resolve any disputes.
3) Exercise your consumer rights - you can view the Office of Fair Trading website to understand your position.
4) If you are unable to resolve the issue after steps 1, 2 and 3 then it may be appropriate to take legal action.

Close order

It is important that you only place a live auction when you are sure you wish to go ahead. If you place a Reverse Auction order, you may not close or cancel it: instead it will be left to AutoeBid's discretion to cancel it for you.

If you need to request an order to be cancelled, please send an email outlining the circumstances to feedback@autoebid.com

Exterior and interior colours

To specify the exterior colour, simply select the colour required. Don't forget that many of the more popular colours - like silver, black and blue - are metallic paint colours which is normally a manufacturer's option. If you know the exact name of the manufacturer's colour, select the appropriate one by ticking the associated box in the options list. If the colour you require is not listed but you know it to be available, simply type it in the comments box.

If you are flexible on colour, please select your preferred colour and mention in the comments box all the alternative colours that you would consider, e.g. 'Metallic Silver, Dark Grey or Black'.

You may wish to visit the manufacturer's website to view their colour range.

Interior colour: The most common colour is black. If you know the exact details of the interior required, you may tick the appropriate box under the vehicle options. If you do not know the colour, the winning supplier will clarify this with you at the end of the auction.

Your comments

If you have any special requirements, or require any specific information from suppliers, simply add it in the comments box.

You can also add any options in the text box if they do not appear on the options list. Please note that any options specified in the comments will need to be added on to the bid prices at the normal retail price (RRP). They cannot be included within the target price and suppliers will not incorporate the cost of these into their bids unless specifically mentioned in the bid details.

Purchase conditions

No win, No Fee - If you don't receive any bids which are the same as, or lower than, Our Price/Our Reserve Price, you will not be charged our fee. If you receive bids above our Reserve Price, you are not committed to buy.

The Option 1 reverse auction fee is calculated as follows:

AutoeBid charges this fee if it achieves the 'reserve price', or less, or if the buyer otherwise chooses to go ahead with a bid over the reserve price.

  • £100 + VAT, if the total saving is less than £1,200 and the car is up to £29,499 (or)
  • £295 + VAT, if the total price is under £29,500 span>
  • 1% + VAT of the total transaction price if equal to or over £29,501

We only charge you our fee at the end of the auction, if we achieve 100% of all your conditions of purchase*.

The Option 2 part exchange auction fee is £295 + VAT.

Failure to Supply - If for any reason, after you order a vehicle from a supplier, the supplier is not able to supply the vehicle to you on the agreed terms, they are contractually obliged pursuant to their contract with you to provide you with a full refund of any deposit you have paid to them. In these circumstances, AutoeBid will provide you with a credit of its finder's fee in order to locate you an alternative vehicle. If this were to happen we would look to remove that supplier from our service.

Delivery Time - When you auction your order, you specify your required delivery time. The successful supplier will be contracting with you to deliver within such a delivery time. If there is any delay in the delivery of a vehicle that is within a reasonable period of time then this would be regarded as acceptable. AutoeBid would act as a moderator in such an event.

Specification - Unless you specify additional options or otherwise, the supplier is contracting with you to supply a (UK Supplied) vehicle with full UK specification (conforming to the manufacturer's latest model). If you include additional options the supplier is contracting to provide these. You will only be bound to purchase the vehicle in the auction if it matches your order exactly.

Payment terms:

Deposit - For new car orders under the value of £25,000, the deposit will be £500. For orders over the value of £25,001, the deposit will be up to £1,000.

Payment Method - You pay a deposit on order to the supplying dealer with the balance paid by you to this dealer dependent on the vehicle matching your exact order and satisfactory delivery/collection. A Banker's Draft or a Building Society cheque are the most common methods of paying the balance.

Moderation - In the event a problem arises between the buyer and seller, AutoeBid will act as a moderator to determine the best solution to overcome the problem. If required, AutoeBid can appoint an additional third party moderator to resolve issues. This process ensures a high standard of quality and helps to ensure a smooth fulfilment.

Supplying Dealer and Vehicle Purchase - Most of our suppliers are manufacturers' franchised dealers, supermarkets, wholesalers and brokers of reputation and experience. In all cases, you will be purchasing a vehicle directly from the supplier, and not from AutoeBid. The relevant supplier will provide you with the sales invoice; the contract of sale will be between you and the supplier (and AutoeBid will not be a party).

Autoebid supplier profile:

To save you time and give you confidence to purchase a new vehicle through one of our suppliers, whenever you receive a bid from any supplier through our service, you can be confident the supplier has confirmed to us the following points.

  • Experience - Has at least 3 years trading experience

  • Ability to deliver - Has sold at least 100 vehicles

  • Deposit - Has requested only a £500 deposit if vehicle is up-to £25,000 and £1,000 deposit if vehicle is over £25,000

  • Payment terms - Has agreed to full balance being paid only on vehicle matching the exact order and satisfactory inspection on delivery/collection

  • Customer Services - Has more than two employees

In the event of receiving a bid from a supplier who does not meet our standard supplier terms as above, the supplier's profile will state this. If you do receive a bid from a supplier who does not meet our supplier terms then, you will be able to accept the bid if you choose to do so, but you will not be committed to accept it.

We take the reputation of all our suppliers extremely seriously. If we receive any major problems with our suppliers or more than two complaints about any specific supplier we will immediately withdraw that suppliers from our service.

By auctioning your order, you are warranting to us and to our suppliers that you have the necessary funds available to make the purchase at our reserve price, and to pay AutoeBid's finder's fee. It is important to arrange any Finance required before auctioning your order. Click here for finance options.
