The fact that it's not as commonplace as German alternatives adds a refreshing exclusivity to it - and opting for the Saab does not require sacrifices in quality or performance. On top of sensational exterior design, the 9-3's interior is equally impressive and creates a comfortable and sophisticated ambience, with excellent noise repression on the move. As one would expect from a Saab, engines are powerful and deliver smooth performance, with a well balanced chassis that ensures lively handling which will reward the keen driver. Specification is high with plenty of standard equipment, but residual values are likely to be lower than those for German manufacturers (but then starting prices are less) - so make sure you get a big discount by buying through AutoeBid which will make up for a slightly lower resale value later down the line.
