Feb 23 2009 -New car buyers beating the downturn with Auto eBid
Figures released by The Society of Motor Manufacturer’s and Traders (SMMT) show that the number of new cars registered in the UK in January declined by 30.9% year-on-year, worse than December's contraction which in itself was XX% worse than December 2007.
Elsewhere, trade union Unite’s joint leader, Tony Woodley, has warned that a UK car plant – that he refrains from naming but which many in the motor industry think is Birmingham-based, Russian-owned van maker, LDV - that directly and indirectly employs more than 6,000 people may be forced to close “within days”.
These are just two examples of the alarm ringing in people’s ears as the British car industry seems doomed to its worst period in its history. New car sales have plunged with buyers not ready to take the retail bait on offer that only a few months ago would have been considered a steal.
But Autoebid, the award-winning car reverse auction website at www.AutoeBid.com, is bucking all the stories of retail doom and gloom. With a record 30% increase in sales from January 08 to January 09, Auto eBid’s success spells some hope for an industry that is desperately looking for a saviour.
With increasing numbers of potential and actual buyers turning to the internet for succour, - and indeed to save on their car purchasing needs - Autoebid’s service has proved a real winner with over 100,000 people visiting its website every month.
Car dealers are giving away much larger discounts through the website’s unique bidding service than they ever will through their own showrooms. New data released by Auto eBid show that many of its suppliers are giving up to 50% off new car prices – and this at a time when some manufacturers are increasing car prices due to the falling pound and increase on their costs.
Gone are the days when the likes of Ferrari and Porsche wouldn’t give a discount to Auto eBid clients. For the first time ever those two prestigious manufacturers are offering substantial discounts on new cars.
Auto eBid has shown, through its unique online positioning, that there is still good new car retail business to be done and customers to be won by some exceptional offers and service.
Now, having already sold thousands of new cars Auto eBid has pulled out all the stops to launch its brand new website early in March when visitors will find it much easier to choose their new car and see for themselves exactly what difference Auto eBid can make to their new car buying dreams…
