Hot car deals, 18 March 2009

AutoeBid, the ‘reverse auction’ site where car dealers bid for your custom by offering their lowest possible prices, has launched a brand-new website. This not only highlights ‘23 top deals’, it also shows you its biggest savings.

The most money it's ever saved a customer comes on the Audi A8 luxury car: £18,010 off a range-topping £100,310 S8, reducing it to £82,300.

But AutoeBid reckons it can find you an excellent deal on really inexpensive motoring, too. For example, a basic Renault Clio Campus that listed at £8,365 (including specified options) was supplied to one customer pre-registered for £5,519, representing a saving of £2,846.

While saving £2,020 off a Chevrolet Matiz, a city car that lists at just £7,115 anyway, means you could be on the road with something brand new for just £5,095.

All these are examples of possible savings on AutoeBid - you have to register if you want dealers to bid on the car of your choice. If AutoeBid sucessfully sources the car for the price you're prepared to pay, the buyer pays a variable 'finders fee' - so factor this into your calculations.
