The Chevrolet Matiz is cheap. That's its main selling point, but it's no criticism of the car, which does represent excellent value for money. The Matiz is well built, well equipped and very practical - easily seating four and even five at a squeeze which isn't bad for such a small car. The 0.8 litre engine won't break any records with five people inside (or indeed with just the driver on board!) but the 1.0 is more interested in making steady progress and does make the car easy to drive. Power steering is standard, as are central locking and electric windows, and the ride is smooth with reasonable agility. It might be worth considering the Ford KA as an alternative - discounts on the KA Luxury put it in the same price bracket, and it's a more rounded proposition.
