Despite being launched in 2003, the current Punto does feel slightly behind many of its rivals in terms of space and refinement - especially with the launch of the new Grande Punto - but it beats them hands down on price and value. The driving dynamics are good with gutsy performance and light steering that compromises the handling but ensures simple manoeuvring in urban driving. Press the city button for power steering and it gets ridiculously light: ideal for the Italian 'Signorina', but less so if you actually appreciate some degree of feedback through the wheel.
