The new Focus has successfully built on the class-leading strengths of its predecessor in delivering exemplary driving dynamics combined with much-improved interior quality and styling. The cabin is spacious, well equipped on higher spec models and feels like it's built to last - although the base models are a little sparse without even air conditioning (except as a cost option). The entry-level 1.4 engine feels slightly underpowered, but all others offer decent performance - especially the excellent diesels. The 2.0 TDCi's 136 bhp provides great performance and manages to keep things economical at 50 miles per gallon (combined). AutoeBid's reverse auction generates savings of up to about £4000 - and the seriously hot ST range is also heavily discounted.
