New FIAT STILO Review:

The Stilo is a sibling of the fantastic Alfa Romeo 147 - although by comparison ends up being something of an ugly sister. Whilst the fore-running Bravo and Brava models were renowned for their elegant styling, the Stilo fails to carry on quite the same flair and also lacks the superb driving dynamics of the 147. It's a shame because Fiat had high hopes for the Stilo, with plans to give the VW Golf and Ford Focus a run for their money; instead the Stilo's key trump card is its price: when taking into account the sort of discounts available through AutoeBid, it does make a huge amount of sense to get one for value alone (AutoeBid has previously had certain models available with 42% off). Practicality is also good and the diesel engines make swift progress with above-average refinement, so we would opt for those models in particular. If a big engine floats your boat, the 2.4 24v unit is certainly big - although it's not particularly worthwhile in a Stilo. This Fiat's never going to go down as a design classic - and its opposition is fierce - but it does represent undisputably good value through AutoeBid.
