Both versions cope well in tough terrain and the easy-going suspension ensures a bump-free ride. The Nissan NP300 only comes with one engine option, a 133bhp four-cylinder 2.5 litre diesel. The maximum payload weight is a class-leading 1,135kg and can tow up to 3,000kg with brake on. Putting materials onto the back has also been made easier with a highly accessible loading bay. Fitting three into the single cab version is a bit of a squeeze but investing in the double cab or king cab will get you more room, as well as seating up to six. The Nissan NP300 should be cheap to run and the Japanese carmaker’s reliability should prove a high selling point for this low-cost high-performance pick-up.
