New PEUGEOT 4007 Review:
The 4007 is Peugeot’s new SUV, based on Mitsubishi’s Outlander. Undeniably it looks familiar, yet do not be mistaken about this – the 4007 is unquestionably a Peugeot. Look at the nose, which can only be a Peugeot, and under the bonnet there rests a 156bhp 2.2 HDi engine, different to the Outlander’s VW turbodiesel.

The 4007 will initially be HDi only, though it is reasonable to expect that petrol engined models will follow. This impressive HDi is also to be found in the 407 and the 607 although it will be pulling a lot more weight and will require all 280lb ft of pull to shift its heavier frame.

The 4007 is a 7 seater with a third row that folds out of the floor. While people of generous proportions might find it a bit of a squeeze, the extra seats will still appeal as a useful facility to have, and the middle row slides back and forth by 80mm.

Interior-wise the 4007 is blessed with standard soft-touch surfaces in addition to increasingly ubiquitous chrome hinges. There’s a panoramic windscreen which lends an airy feel to the place, plus with safety features such as ESP, curtain airbags and a 30gb hard drive that can fit both mapping for all of Europe in addition to up to 2,500 songs, the 4007 is adequately equipped.
