Advantages: Economical, practical, and surprisingly good to drive.
Disadvantages: The Up is strictly a four seater car, where as some of the other models in this category are five seaterís. Inside the cabin looks a bit cheap.
Summary: The new Volkswagen Up offers great quality and excellent value for money. It is everything you need in a small city car.
New VOLKSWAGEN UP Review:
The new Volkswagen Up proves that size doesnít matter as it is viewed by many as the best small car around.
While it may be compact it has more room inside than you might expect and that includes the boot, which could easily fit a large suitcase. The rear seats even fold down for more practicality. Thereís decent knee and head room in the back seat, and the accessibility is good even on the 3 door version due to large doors and the front seat going right the way forward. The cabin has a smart looking dashboard and plenty of little storage compartments however the interior is a bit cheap looking due to the gloss dash and metal panels. The top of the range model has a great little system called maps&more, which has satnav, touchscreen and mobile phone connectivity and this can be added to lower models for just under £300. But steering wheel is non-adjustable which could be quite annoying.
The new Volkswagen Up is a great car for driving around town. The steering is light, the brakes are sharp, and the gearbox is nice and snappy. Thereís also great visibility thanks to large windows and a large windscreen panel. Itís even really good to drive out on the open road, as the suspension is surprisingly smooth.
