New Vauxhall Deals

The new Vauxhall Mokka X arrives in showrooms later this year, but a debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month will reveal the first model to introduce the 'X' segment identifier.

With over half a million sold in Europe and nearly 100,000 in the UK, Mokka has been a huge success since its launch in 2012, with the Mokka's compact size, sport looks and elevated seating position sitting well with customers looking for an affordable SUV.

Now though, with a new, bold look the Mokka X will hope to take the future of Vauxhall SUV and crossover vehicles into even more success.

Its new front treatment is aligned with Vauxhall's new design philosophy including a wing-shaped horizontal front grille and the dominant, sharp double-wing signature of the LED daytime running lights.

The front fascia gets precise and sculpted surfaces, with fewer plastic insert, giving the Mokka X a wider, more solid and muscular stance. It is continued at the rear with another double wing signature highlighted in the tail lamps, with LED technology an option.

The body side retains sporty edge with powerful and athletic lower body lines, energised by Vauxhall's typical 'blade' that sweeps upwards to the rear. The Mokka X will come with vibrant new colours such as 'Amber Orange' and 'Lava Red'.

Its interior features a completely new dashboard inspired by the new Astra. The new instrument panel is organised around more horizontally shaped elements, looks both simpler, as well as sharper and more precise. With a seven-and-eight-inch touchscreen, the centre stack has been completely redeveloped as it now has fewer buttons with functions accessible via the touchscreen.

The Mokka engine range has been extended further with a new generation 1.4-litre Direct Injection Turbo (152PS) petrol unit which first appeared in the all-new Astra. With a six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive all-wheel drive and start/stop, this Mokka achieves 42.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 154g/km.

With an electro magnetic multi-plate clutch, the all-wheel drive technology is clever and efficient, shown when the road surface is dry, the front wheels drive the vehicle forward (except when the car is in AWD) meaning the fuel consumption remains low.

The new Mokka is available with the personal connectivity and service assistant OnStar, which offers customers a broad range of safety and comfort services. Features include when an airbag deploys, OnStar will be alerted automatically, allowing for an advisor to then contact the vehicle to determine whether help is required. If there is no response, emergency responders are immediately sent to the exact location of the vehicle.

OnStar also turns the Mokka X into a 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, with up to seven devices including smartphones and tables able to connect simultaneously.

Vauxhall claim that the Mokka X is one of the most comfortable cars in the compact SUV segment, as a result of the AGR (Campaign for Healthier backs led by independent back health experts) testing and certifying the Mokka X's ergonomic seats that make long motorway journeys just as enjoyable as excursions onto rough terrain.
