VW Commercial Vehicles enjoyed a successful 2015 with 47,739 units sold, making for a 7.8% improvement on 2014 and placing them second in the UK LCV market with an 11.6% share, behind number one brand Ford (26%).
The huge number of sales came following the launch of the new Caddy and Transporter vans, and with both models set to enjoy their first full year on sale in 2016 the group are hoping for another record-breaking year.
VW Commercial Vehicles' UK brand director, Carl Zu Dohna, said: "We've added the petrol engine to the Caddy range for customers in cities who don't need a diesel and for buyers of wheelchair accessible versions of the Caddy who also usually cover smaller mileages in town."
The Transporter range is now fully available with the Caravelle people carrier and California motorhome which have both just arrived on the range. The 2016 Geneva Motor Show will preview special versions of both the Caddy and Transporter.
A complete line-up will be available in the summer when the up spec Sportline models arrive, after the 2016 Geneva Motor Show will preview special versions of both the Caddy and Transporter in March.
Volkswagen will also release their range renewal later this year, with the Amarok pick-up receiving a facelift, before it hits showrooms. The Amarok will be joined by the all-new Crafter when it makes its debut at the IAA commercial vehicle show in Hanover in September.
