Classic and sports car lovers are gearing up for Coys' ground-breaking inaugural auction at the Frankfurt International Motor Show next week.

The auction house has gathered 70 incredible vehicles for one of Europe's largest motoring events, with over a million visitors attending the annual meeting.

A 1967 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series II (estimated at €350,000 to €380,000) is sure to be the star of the show, and Chris Routledge, managing partner of Coys, has hailed the quality of vehicles on offer.

"There is a fantastic selection of vehicles available from both pre and post-war periods, in keeping with one of the most important motoring events in Europe," said Chris.

"For a number of years now, the historic and modern car worlds have blended, forming an unbroken line of history and heritage together.

"Historic content at the Frankfurt Motor Show will be significant in this new era, and Coys auction will be a ground-breaking one as you can expect from Germany's leading classic car auction brand."

The 1967 Ferrari is one of just 455 series two cars ever to be made. The line-up also includes a 1938 Mercedes-Benz 320n Cabriolet A, a 1959 Facel Vega HK 500, and a 1970 ISO Grifo Seven Litre.

Originally supplied new to one of Hollywood's golden era most famous leading actresses Ava Gardner, in 1959, the iconic 1959 Facel Vega is said to be in an extremely good condition and Coys say it would prove to be an excellent project for a true enthusiast to restore a once-great motor car.

Other important lots include a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Coupe, a 1938 BMW 327 Cabriolet, a 1925 Bugatti T 30 Tourer, and a 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 SS.

Coys auction will take place on Saturday 26 September in Hall 4, with viewing available from Thursday 24 September.
