IAA will see over 40 premieres, all listed below, with huge names including Bentley, Ferrari and Porsche preparing to unveil their latest work.
But, first we have put together a list of the vehicles we are looking forward to seeing the first of at one of the world's most comprehensive show of the automotive industry.
1. Audi A4
Available to the UK from November, the fifth-generation Audi A4 is designed in a similar fashion to the outgoing version, but features much more interior space and re-developed powertrain and chassis.
The A4 allows owners the option to replace the analogue dials in the binnacle with an all-digital Audi virtual cockpit. Drivers can also replace the standard xenon or LED headlamps with Matrix LED units that can track multiple road users and illuminate the appropriate corridors of lights either side of them in order to safely maintain maximum visibility.
2. BMW 7-series
For those looking for some inspiring innovation at this year's IAA then look no further than the new BMW 7 Series. Key features heavily evolved around the operating system and driver assistance technology include the extension of iDrive.
iDrive now features a touch display and BMW gesture control, Touch Command, that allows owners to control comfort and infotainment functions in the rear compartment of the vehicle. The Surround View system also allows for 3D View and and Panorama View.
3. Rolls-Royce Dawn
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, says the Dawn "promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date, and begins a new age of open-top, super luxury motoring", and if that's not enough to get you excited then maybe this Motor Show isn't for you.
The Dawn is also the quietest open-top car ever made, according to Rolls-Royce, despite weighing more than 2.5 tonnes, reaching up to 563 hp and powered by a twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12.
4. Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport
Celebrating it's 40th anniversary in early 2016, IAA will see Volkswagen release a special edition Golf GTI Clubsport, which they say is the most powerful production GTI ever.
The ceremonial version pays homage to the 1976 Golf GTI with its wide black trim stripe on the side area, but also looks to the future by providing more engine power than its previous editions, propelling it into the domain of top-class motorsport.
5. Ferrari 488 Spider
It wouldn't be a Frankfurt Motor Show without an appearance from Ferrari, and with the 488 Spider engine lovers will be able to catch a glimpse of the 3902 cc turbo-charged V8 in action for the first time.
It will be a case of blink and you will miss it with the 488 Spider, which can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds flat and from 0 to 200 km/h in an astonishing 8.7 seconds.
6. Jaguar F-Pace SUV
For what is a step into the unknown, Jaguar's F-Pace is the manufacturer's first ever SUV and is sure to draw in the punters when it debuts in Germany.
The new model is released as the British marque celebrates its 80th anniversary, and Jaguar describe it as being a highly efficient five-seat performance crossover. The F-Pace is the production version of the breakthrough C-X17 concept car.
7. Mini Clubman
The Clubman is Mini's first entry into the premium compact segment and it is expected to make a big impact on what is a highly competitive division at IAA.
The model is the largest of the new Mini generation, as the manufacturers focused on comfort by combining increased interior space and versatility. Its Mini TwinPower Turbo Technology creates a sports-style temperament and outstanding efficiency.
