Uber WAV Wheelchair friendly vehicles
uberWAV wheelchair accessible vehicles - WAV - on demand
AutoeBid can source and provide access to finance for any of these WAV vehicles, for private, Mobility or minicab use.
Uber launched uberWAV earlier this year for more accessible vehicles that can transport passengers in wheelchairs. The service clearly requires a different type of vehicle, where a wheelchair can be pushed up a ramp safely into the vehicle.
The vehicles allowed are all van derivatives modified to allow wheelchair access, with a ramp allowing the customer to be pushed into a secure space at the rear of the vehicle.
Several options exist for additional seating, with the largest allowing seating for 4 passengers, plus the driver and the wheelchair.
More expensive conversions incorporate a lift rather than a ramp. We believe this is less appropriate for minicab use, as the lift will require more maintenance and may malfunction leaving you unable to transport wheelchairs.

WAV Optional extras
Once you have chosen which WAV is right for you and your passengers, there are lots of options that you can add. Being van derivatives, unsurprisingly, the options come from the van list, so leather air conditioned seats are less likely.
Parking sensors and cameras may be useful, especially when it comes to leaving enough space for the ramp and access to it. There are also expensive styling and sound system optional extras, especially from the more premium orientated brands, like VW and Ford.
Drivers may consider panoramic roofs for passengers sat high in the rear of the vehicle as a nice option.
