Getting the Best Price buying an Uber X

It can be a tricky business buying an Uber X. Uber drivers are required to have a car made after 2008, and previously the list of choices hasn't been great either.

Well, thankfully, all of that has changed now.

In the case of Uber Lux and Uber Exec, cars mostly have to be 2014 or later, but Uber X is slightly more liberal. The TFL rules currently allow existing license holders to renew for up to ten years on the same car, but Uber seem to require a car younger than eight years.

Careful consideration is needed about which car to choose. Keep residual value in mind, and also bear in mind that high mileage (potentially as many as 30,000 miles a year) will shave a lot off of resale value anyway.
