Hitting the car market in 2016 is the Infiniti QX30, and the manufacturers say it is the design vision that will inspire a new premium compact crossover.

The QX30 leads the way for Infiniti as they look to expand into the global premium compact segment. It combines the sleek lines of the coupé with the command sitting and all-wheel drive of a crossover. Its all-wheel drive being one of the main differences between the QX30 and Infiniti's X30 hatchback which was released last year.

There will be stern competition from the new BMW X1 and highly popular Audi Q3, but Infiniti are focusing on meeting the needs of younger drivers who they say are less likely to follow tradition of size and power, with the QX30's distinctive design and execution.

Safety features include Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Warning and Forward Emergency Braking, allowing drivers to have peace of mind when needed. Night time driving will be a lot easier thanks to the QX30's Auto High Beam Assist and Intelligent cruise control.

Drivers can enjoy an improved experience on the road with the model's Intelligent Park Assist, helping those who struggle with parallel parking. Other advanced technology systems include the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, allowing for even more help with parking.

The QX30's engine range will include the Mercedes-Benz-sourced turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit, petrol and diesel options. Another element that comes from Merc is the same compact, front-drive architecture used for the likes of the Mercedes A-Class. The engine range and trims are other features that the QX30 has in common with the X30.
