The name Alfa Romeo is derived from A.L.F.A., which comes from ‘Anonima Lombarda Fabricca Automobili’ with the second part attributed to Neapolitan entrepreneur Nicola Romeo who ran the company after a takeover in August 1915.

The charismatic Italian brand, which belongs to the Fiat Group, has built its reputation in motor sport. In fact, it is safe to say that it Alfa Romeo has always been involved with motor racing. In the 1920s and 30s Alfa Romeo scored wins at many of the most famous and prestigious races and motoring events such as Targa Florio, Mille Miglia and Le Mans.
