A number of vintage cars stretching back to 1902 have been confirmed for the Concours of Elegance line-up to be held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Visitors attending the show between 4-6 September will be able to set their eyes on the famous 1912 Rolls-Royce Ghost London to Edinburgh car, as well as special features such as a collection of eight Ecurie Ecosse models.

Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost

One of six Rolls-Royce cars in the main Concours event, this particular model was inspired by the Silver Ghost's return journey from London to Edinburgh in top gear - mimicking the Concours of Elegance's journey from Hampton Court Palace in 2014 to Holyroodhouse this year.

On its return trip, the Silver Ghost managed to carry four passengers and luggage while covering 1600 miles and using only its top gear.

Other popular vehicles on show at Concours will be the 1923 Bugatti Type 23 Brescia, one of only 200 ever built, with around 19 known to still exist.

The 1949 one-off Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport Franay will also be on show. The company only produced bodywork for three T26 Grand Sports, with the reamining two being coupés. Each of these vehicles use a chassis developed from a Le Mans-winning racing car and a 190bhp 4.5-litre six-cylinder engine.

Several Ferrari's are sure to catch the eyes of visitors, with a stunning pale green Ferrari 250 GTO and Ferrari 212 Export Vignale standing out on the line-up.
