The Renault Kadjar visually has a lot of similarities with the Nissan Qashqai, and that could be due to the Renault-Nissan alliance. Those looking for style will appreciate the Kadjar more due to its softer and more fluid lines.
The Kadjar will be formally introduced to the general public in March during the Geneva Motor Show. Anyone interested in the specific details of the Kadjar will have to wait until March.
Engine And Technical Detail Speculation
We don’t know the specific technical details but we can speculate that the Kadjar will offer a something along the lines of the following engine types: 128bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine, 108bhp 1.5-litre and 113bhp 1.2-litre 4 -cylinder turbo petrol. A stop/start feature will be fitted on all models, and there will be availability to choose between front and 4-wheel drive. The 4WD models will offer 3 different drive systems: 2WD, Lock and Auto. Whereas, as the 2WD will offer an extended grip system which has been designed to improve grip on surfaces with low traction.
Furthermore, you can expect the interior to have plenty of soft-touch materials. The seats, instrument panel and door handles will have double row decorative stitching. Those looking for on-board electronics will be impressed, because on offer there is the most up-to-date version of Renault's R-Link 2 infotainment system. This includes radio, Bluetooth, navigation and voice control.
A number of practical touches have been added to the boot. The handles can be used to drop the rear seats on a 60/40 split. There’s a system where you can turn the boot into 2 or 3 compartments, and the boot floor is adjustable.
The price of all this is yet unconfirmed, but you can expect it to be competitive with the likes of the Mazda CX-5 and the Qashqai.
Comparison With Rivals
The Kadjar is set to make a big impact in its category because it shares a lot of similarities with the Qashqai - a car that has picked up the Car Of The Year Award for 2014, and the top SUV in both 2014 and 2015.
The Mazda CX-5 is a strong rival because of its 5 star rating, and the Honda CR-V is almost as good. Therefore, the Kadjar will have to be special in order to end up at the top of the pile.
You can expect large discount on the Renault Kadja through AutoeBid even prior to launch based therefrore the best deals on prive and avaailbility are likey over the next few months.
